Fast & Furious 6 [2013]

Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller

Rating: 7/10.

Watch this movie only as a pure entertainer and not expecting a sensible film-making. The action scenes are terrific. There are too many cliches in the movie. The Rock has literally become a human hulk. His body size and arms have doubled from his WWE days. There’s one terrific scene on a bridge which is not to be missed. Just pure entertainment.

Star Trek Into Darkness [2013]

Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Adventure

Rating: 7/10.

Was a tad disappointed with this because the first movie was damn good, so the expectations were high. Not that its bad. Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant. He owns the movie all the way. The bickering between Kirk & Spock is funny at times. The visuals are brilliant though. But the movie feels kind of a let down in the second half. Lots of cliches. The rest of the crew could have had a little more screen time. Even Cumberbatch could have done with more screen time.

Directed by the great Sidney Lumet, the story is about how TV network misused an unstable anchor for their own profits. A hard-hitting look at the exploits of the television industry. Excellent performances by the cast and has some unforgettable dialogues. Faye Dunaway deserved the Oscar that she won for her acting. Jaw-dropping performance. So did Peter Finch who was amazing as the mad hatter Howard Beale. William Holden is undoubtedly great as well.
